    Dear Spotlight team
    How are you?

British Idioms : Under the Weather – Written by Roger March 11, 2026

First, I would like to thank you for bringing us one more interesting British idiom. Thanks! I like learning British and American Idioms.
“Under the Weather” here has the same meaning as yours. So, we use another expression to express those meanings. We use Bad Sheets! I am in bad sheets. You are in bad sheets. He is in bad sheets. She is in bad sheets. It is in bad sheets. We are in bad sheets. You are in bad sheets. They are in bad sheets.
For example, if you take the rain on your head, you will catch a cold, so you will be in bad sheets tomorrow.
If you spend all your money at the party, you will get in bad sheets tomorrow. Bad sheets = Translating it into my mother tongue, it is em maus lençóis.
    Thank you so much
    I appreciate it
    Stay with God
    Severino Ramos

  • In Yemeni Arab dialect we say “halati halah”
It means I feel exhausted or that I can’t do anything.
