British Idioms
Not My Cup of Tea
First, I would like to tell you that I like so much the word of the day. I have learned several important meaning of words and idioms. Thanks!
I think that expression is a very interesting one ” Not my cup of tea to refuse an invitation from someone. Here, we use several idioms, too. However, we use that “It is not my beach” when someone invite us to do something in which we do not like to do that. So we say, I am sorry It is not my beach. It is the same to say, I do not like to do that, or I do not enjoy it. “Not my cup of tea” here = “It is not my beach” Translating it to my mother language = não é minha praia. Finally, it is an informal idioms for us. It is a slang.
Thank you so much! I appreciate it
Stay with God.
